Hair History
Mixed grey distribution — typically more grey at temples and crown, less at nape. No prior chemical services preferred for this formula; prior color complicates the blend calculation.
Hair Diagnosis
Current level: variable (grey sections Level 10, pigmented sections Level 7). Target: blend grey to appear as highlighted dimension rather than coverage. The formula softens the contrast between grey and pigmented sections without eliminating it.

Timing
25–30 minutes. Open air. Check at 25 minutes.
Expected Lift
0.5–1 level on pigmented sections. Grey sections will absorb tone without lift.

Why It Works
Grey blend formulas work by toning both the grey sections and the natural pigmented sections simultaneously — the grey sections absorb the tone (producing a light warm blonde) and the pigmented sections lift slightly (producing a lighter warm blonde). The contrast between them is reduced from "strong grey/dark contrast" to "soft highlight/depth contrast." The result reads as dimensional rather than covered. [S2/S4]
Common Mistakes
(1) Using a formula that is too dark — the grey sections absorb heavily and the result reads like patchy coverage, not a blend. The formula must be lighter than the desired final depth. (2) Using 6% developer — too much lift on the pigmented sections makes the blend too uniform.
Alternatives
GC-001 (Full Coverage) if the client decides they want complete coverage rather than blending. Balayage technique (Vol 2 systems) for a more dramatic highlight approach.
Maintenance
Refresh every 6–8 weeks. Home: neutral to warm shampoo. The blend softens gracefully as it grows out — intentionally designed for low-maintenance regrowth.
