Client & Diagnosis

Client Profile: Client requesting a bold, vivid copper — warm, saturated, and luminous. Not auburn (which leans red-brown), not red (which leans blue-red), but specifically copper: the orange-gold family. Typically aged 22–45. Often a client with warm to neutral skin undertones.
Hair History: Natural Level 5–6. Canvas: Level 6 gold-orange (may require pre-lightening from natural Level 5 to reach the canvas). No prior red or copper color for the cleanest result — prior deposit colors complicate copper saturation.
Hair Diagnosis: Canvas Level 6, tone orange-gold (natural or pre-lightened). The orange-gold underlying pigment is the copper formula's ally — the formula builds on top of it rather than fighting it. Cuticle state 1–2.
Current Level: Level 6 (natural or pre-lightened, orange-gold canvas)
Target Level: Level 6 Vivid Copper — bold, saturated, warm orange-copper

The Formula

Formula: 30g 6/43 (Copper-Gold Dark Blonde) + 10g 6/4 (Copper Dark Blonde) + 5g 0/44 (Copper Intensifier) + 60ml developer
Mixing Ratio: 45g product : 60ml developer (1:1.3)
Developer: 6% / 20 Vol
Timing: 35 minutes. Under cap for maximum saturation.
Expected Lift: Half a level maximum.

Intelligence Layer

Why It Works: The 6/43 provides the copper-gold base at Level 6 depth. The 6/4 (copper without gold) deepens the copper saturation and pushes the result toward the vivid, bright copper direction. The 0/44 copper intensifier amplifies the whole formula without adding depth — it is the "turn up the volume" ingredient. At 6% developer, the formula achieves the saturation and penetration required for a lasting vivid copper result. [S2]
Common Mistakes: (1) Applying on a Level 5 or darker canvas without pre-lightening — the copper pigments are insufficient to produce vivid saturation over dark underlying pigment. SOLUTION: Pre-lighten to Level 6 orange-gold first. (2) Using 3% developer — insufficient penetration for lasting vivid copper. [S2]
Alternatives: RC-002 (Auburn — for a redder, more brown-leaning direction). Reduce 0/44 to 3g for a softer copper. Increase 0/44 to 8g for maximum vivid saturation.
Maintenance: Toner refresh every 4–6 weeks. Home: copper-enhancing or warm shampoo. No blue shampoo — it will neutralize the warm copper direction. UV protection critical — copper fades fastest of all warm families in UV exposure.
